As Pusha T had famously said on his diss track towards Drake:
Deadbeat mothafucka playin’ border patrol, ooh
This lyric from “Story of Adidon” was in reference (and reveal) of Drake’s son, but Drake has had lyrics about his power to let people into Canada. His home country has extremely strict laws on letting people in the country with a record, be that either a misdemeanor or felony. Drake being such an influential figure in Canada could be able to pull the strings when it comes to these sticky situations. Here, we’ll look at some moments where he may or may not have worked his magic:
Gucci Mane – Both (ft. Drake)
I got so many felonies, I might can’t never go to Canada
Gucci Mane
But Drake said he gon’ pull some strings, so let me check my calendar
Drake – Dreams Money Can Buy
My newest girl from back home got issues with parents
And some charges, how the fuck can I get her to Paris?
Luckily, I’m the greatest my country’s ever seen
So chances are I get the border to issue me clearance
Dreams money can buy
Drake – 305 to My City
281 to my city
Heard you had trouble at customs
Your girl got a DUI?
I’ll make the calls to get y’all through customs
Tell your best friend, “Girl, get your paperwork right”
